In August, Stonegate Village Assisted Living took five seniors to a local barn in Sanilac County for horseback rides. Knowing a handful residents were itching to get back in the saddle, Rochelle Lyons organized an outing to the local horse barn with the help of members from the Sanilac County Sheriff Posse and the Sanilac County 4-H Therapeutic Riding Program. The barn filled with laughter as each resident took their turn riding a horse. One of the Stonegate Village Assisted Living residents’ last time on a horse was 90 years ago!
Thank you to Rochelle and the team at Stonegate Village for being a great example of living each day with purpose! Stonegate Village’s trip to the barn is a perfect example of how passionate our communities are about providing the best care possible for each resident and helping them live a joy-filled life.
